Thank You, Chakaia

In 2021, Utah Museum of Fine Arts invited me to write and record a response to one of the works featured in their exhibit
Black Refractions: Highlights from the Studio Museum in Harlem.
I selected Chakaia Booker’s sculpture Repugnant Rapunzel (Let Down Your Hair).

During a Community Commissioning Residency with NCCAkron in 2022, I experimented with turning the response into an interactive performance piece. In 2024, I performed the piece for the Arts Council of Greater Baton Rouge’s exhibit,
